Scooter, Electric Bicycle, and Moped repair

It is possible that during the lifetime of your new electric or gas scooter, moped or e-bike you might find yourself needing to have something serviced that you cannot easily accomplish yourself.  Most of the time, small issues with your scooter will be fairly easy to fix, requiring nothing more than tightening a bolt or lubricating an axle and are handled by most owners themselves.

However, if you do need to have your ride serviced and cannot do it yourself, you'll need to find a local mechanic who can help.  We've prepared this handy guide to help you in your search for a scooter, moped, or e-bike repair shop.

Electric Bicycle Repair

Getting your electric bicycle serviced is usually never a problem.  Electric bicycles usually use standard bike parts, and most of the time any issues arising will be easily fixed using standard bike parts by your local bicycle shop.  If your local bike shop is having trouble finding replacement parts for your e-bike in his catalog, have him look at PartsForScooters.com for a suitable replacement, or have them call our customer service department for help.

Most bicycle shops also have experience with e-bike components (motors, controller, wiring, etc.) and can fix any electrical component malfunctions. If they cannot they will usually be able to refer you to someone who can.

Electric Scooter & Moped

Before deciding to service a smaller scooter (such as the X-10), decide whether whether it might not be better to replace it entirely.  For smaller scooters under $100 aimed at the children's market, a major service on the electrical components might actually cost you more than the price of a new unit.

However, if you've invested several hundred dollars into a high-end scooter or e-moped, the choice of whether to service or replace is clear.  In that case, you'll need to make an initial determination as to what you need serviced to figure out where to take it.

If you have a smaller stand-up scooter, and the problem is not electrical (the motor still works), then take your scooter to a skateboard or bike shop and ask them to help you locate someone your can help you.

If you have a larger scooter or moped and the problem is cosmetic, take it to a scooter or motorcycle repair shop.  Click here for a scooter repair shop locator.

If you have a larger scooter or moped and the problem is electrical (motor no longer works, or works erratically), then look up the closest mobility scooter repair store in your local yellow pages - they will have experience working with the electrical components in your scooter or moped.

Gas Scooter & Moped Repair

Gas scooters and mopeds are serviced just like electric scooters and mopeds above.  We highly recommend the scooter and moped repair shop locator at PartsForScooters.com - you can use it to find the right service center for your ride in seconds.

If you are still having trouble locating a repair shop near you, or have a question you need answered, please email us at info@electricvehiclefactory.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
